David Hockney at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

PLEASE NOTE, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED.

Our study day at the Met begins with an audio tour of the exhibition, David Hockney. For nearly 60 years, this British, artist has pursued a singular career with a love for painting and its intrinsic challenges. This major retrospective—the exhibition’s only North American venue—presents his most iconic works. The exhibition offers a grand overview of the artist’s achievements across all media, including painting, drawing, photography, and video. After lunch (not included in price), we gather for a guided tour on the subject of Fashion in Art. This tour considers fashion throughout the ages, highlighting clothing represented in stone, wood, paint, and other media found throughout the Museum’s collections, this tour examines developments in fashion from all over the world. And of course, this holiday visit coincides with the Met’s famed Christmas Tree and Neapolitan Baroque Creche.
