Gallery Talk: Handwriting as an Artistic Act
How does an artists’ handwriting compare with their works of art? Does a modern artist’s handwriting also appear modern? Join Jenny Parsons, the Museum’s Assistant Curator, for a discussion that scrutinizes the penmanship of Hudson River School painters like Frederic Church and modernists like John Sloan and Alexander Calder to discover how an artist’s style of putting pen to paper compares and contrasts with their artmaking. This event is included with Museum admission.
