with Sam Swap, Museum Educator

Purchase tickets here

Join Swap for an enthusiastic deep dive into the history of artist sketchbooks. Learn how these image-rich journals both document creativity and inspiration as well as record artistic growth. They are messy, colorful, unconventional, and fun. Swap shares his own work as well as examples of sketchbooks by a range of artists, before demonstrating how to use a variety of materials, tools, and techniques to fill pages of a sketchbook.

Participants will construct their own sketchbook and begin searching for their signature sketchbook style. All materials provided.
