Ansel Adams: A Man of the Mountains
November 13, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

This event is SOLD OUT.
Andrea G. Stillman, Independent Curator and Scholar
Ansel Adams made over 40,000 photographs in California’s Sierra Nevada, and after his death a peak in the newly christened Ansel Adams Wilderness assumed his name. What was it about that place that so enchanted him? And why are his photographs so beloved? Why could he photograph Yosemite Valley from the tourist overlook and create a memorable photograph, while thousands of others photographed the same view with poor results? Was it just the camera? Or was there something more? Join Stillman as she offers insight into the answers to these questions and more.
