FAMILY EVENT: Touch-a-Truck with the Old Lyme Fire Department

October 22 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Touch-a-Truck with Member of the Old Lyme Fire Department

Free with Museum Admission

Get up close with a fire engine and meet members of the Old Lyme Fire Department! The event celebrates OLFD’s 100th anniversary. In 1923, Miss Florence was one of only two female charter members of the Department.

The large truck echoes the big vehicle imagery in the current exhibition Abandon in Place: The Worlds of Anna Audette, on view in the Krieble Gallery.

Participants can collect fire prevention materials while supplies last. Old Lyme residents can enter a drawing for a child to win a ride to school in one of the Department’s fire engines.

The Museum’s educational programming is supported by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut; Connecticut Humanities; the Randolph and John Dirks Fund; the John and Kelly Hartman Foundation; the Sally Bill Children’s Education Fund; the Betty M. Challgren Education Fund; the Elizabeth Matthews Hubbard Education Fund; the Ingalls Foundation Education Fund; the Sali Godard Riege Educational Fund; and the Lelan F. Sillin, Jr. Education Endowment Fund.
