Lecture: A Nation of Immigrants

$5 – $7

A Nation of Immigrants: Photography Making a Difference, featuring Joe Standart, Photographer

What is public art? What is uncomfortable learning? Join award-winning Photographer Joe Standart, well known for his large-scale photography of refugees and undocumented immigrants, often exhibited in non-traditional spaces. Standart discusses his WE ARE initiative to create intense, direct, honest portraits of many of the people on the front lines of abuse, incarceration, and degradation, but who offer so much. Learn about the evolution of his work and special focus on communities throughout Connecticut. Standart’s work puts the humanity we all share in HD focus.
