Lecture: Sustainable Farming at Upper Pond Farm
October 14, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Featuring Baylee Rose Drown, Organic Farmer
Much in the spirit of Ruth Coxe, subject of the exhibition “A Room of Her Own,” Upper Pond is a local, sustainable vegetable farm dedicated to growing fresh, healthy food for the community, free of pesticides and herbicides. They grow edible flowers, microgreens, fresh seasonal vegetables, small fruits, and maintain bees on their parcels of land in Lyme and Old Lyme. Come hear the process and progress of this human powered, grass-roots movement to manage the landscape holistically, constantly improving soil health and structure, and enhancing biodiversity.
Upper Pond Farm will be selling produce (greens, roots, carrots, beets, sweet turnips, radishes, winter squash, Brussels sprouts) from 11am-4pm on site.
