SEEDS! The Day
April 3, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Lecture: The Seedy Business: The Art of Seed Stewardship
Ken Greene, Managing and Creative Director, Hudson Valley Seed Library
Come learn about and purchase great heirloom seeds from The Hudson Valley Seed Library. Seed aficionado Ken Greene presents a talk about their company that offers heirloom and open-pollinated seeds for vegetable, flower, and herb varieties. If every seed is a story, then every garden is a work of art bringing seed stories to life. Through looking at historic seed catalogs and digging deeper into the contemporary artwork commissioned by the Hudson Valley Seed Library for their unique seed packs, learn about an incredible diversity of seed stories and how seeds connect us to the environment, history, and each other. Along the way discover easy, beautiful, and tasty varieties you can grow at home plus some seed saving tips. This company also works with artists to transform each packet of seeds into a creative keepsake.
Seeds will be available for purchase in the Museum Shop.
Lecture is free with admission.
