Slide Lecture and Book Signing: Marshes: The Disappearing Edens

September 14, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

$5.00 – $7.00

This presentation by naturalist, photographer, writer, and Old Lyme native William Burt explores the best of North American marshlands with an eye to their bird life and plants with fetching names like sea pink, sweet flag, swamp rose mallow, silverweed, and blue flag.  Sites range from the Connecticut River to the Chesapeake, the southern coasts, and the prairie lakes of western Canada. “William Burt is a perfectionist whose photographs of rails and other shy and elusive birds of our wetlands are unquestionably the finest ever taken.  He has set a new standard.” Roger Tory Peterson
