WWI Posters from the Avery-Copp House Museum
January 28, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm$5.00 – $7.00
Featuring Amy Kurtz Lansing, Curator, Florence Griswold Museum & Leslie Evans, Director/Curator, Avery-Copp House Museum, Groton, CT
Join two museum professionals as they discuss a newly restored collection of WWI posters in the collection of the Avery-Copp House Museum in Groton.
Participants will get an up-close and personal look at the visually striking posters, some by artists connected to the Lyme Art Colony. Through compelling imagery and text, the posters were meant to either pull at the heartstrings or strike terror, both of which stimulated a call to action from the populace. A light “liberty” tea will conclude the program.
