What are the benefits of being a Member of the Museum?
Membership at the Florence Griswold Museum is a wonderful way to support our institution while gaining some great benefits for yourself! Individual Memberships begin as low as $60 per year and come with special event invitations, discounts on programs, in the Museum Shop, and at Café Flo.
Learn more about levels of Membership here and consider joining today!
Do you offer reciprocal admissions to members of other museums?
As of March 1, 2024, we are a member of NARM (North American Reciprocal Museum Association) for those with a Supporting or higher level Florence Griswold Museum Membership. This provides those level Members with free access to over 1,400 arts and cultural institutions throughout North America – including museums, botanical gardens, zoos, and more. For a full listing of all participating NARM institutions, please check out www.narmassociation.org. The Museum grants free admission to members from other NARM institutions, with presentation of a valid membership card showing the NARM sticker, for those named on the card.
Additionally, we offer free admission to New England Museum Association (NEMA) and American Alliance of Museums (AAM) members, and to docents & employees of other museums, with identification or business card.
Does the Museum participate in the SNAP/EBT Program?
Yes! There is no limit to how many times a person can visit, and free admission is good for up to four people per visit with the presentation of a SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, issued by any state in the USA.
Can I check out a discounted admission pass from my local library?
Through our Library Partner program, we have partnered with dozens of libraries to offer general admission passes to the Museum. Library passes are good for free admissions for two adults & two children. Click here to see if your local library is a member of our program!
Passes must be checked out prior to your visit and presented at our Front Desk. Please note: during the Wee Faerie Village event there is a $5 surcharge for Adult admissions using Library Passes.
Passes are not the same as a library card. Libraries purchase memberships to participating organizations so they can offer passes for free or a reduced admission to a variety of attractions.
Are you a librarian interested in learning more or signing your library up for the program? Get in touch with Nathaniel Greene.
Does the Museum offer any general admissions discounts?
Docents & employees of other museums, as well as active duty and veterans (and their families) with a valid military ID are granted free admission. We offer $1 off posted admission to Connecticut & Massachusetts school teachers, AAA members, and those who bring in our online coupon to receive $1 off posted admission.

The Museum Shop and Café Flo (seasonal, May-October) are open to the public and do not require paid Museum admission to visit.

We are always interested in hearing from potential volunteers! Visit this page to learn more and submit an inquiry.

There are restrooms, water fountains, and baby changing tables in the Krieble Gallery building. There are restrooms in the Education Center and the Florence Griswold House. During Wee Faerie Village and other large events portable facilities are added around the campus.

Of course! We love artists! Please adhere to these guidelines.
May I bring my dog?
Service dogs are welcome anywhere on campus. Well-behaved dogs on leash are allowed on the grounds, but not inside or near the Café Flo area. Please do not leave your dog unattended in the car in hot weather, and be sure to pick up after them.
