SPECIAL HOLIDAY EVENT: What Would Mrs. Claus Do?

November 30 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

A Celebration of Mrs. Claus

11am and 2pm

with Pamela McColl, Author and Cultural Historian

Join McColl for a festive presentation celebrating the fascinating Christmas character Mrs. Claus. McColl shares her knowledge of the art and literature that chronicle the character and draws from her new book What Would Mrs. Claus Do? in which Mrs. Claus offers tips for living according to her “Fa-La-La-La Philosophy” along with ideas for making the most of the holiday season.

McColl’s publications What Would Mrs. Claus Do?: Where There is a Wish, There is a Way and Wondrous Mrs. Claus – A Literary and Pictorial Review of the Christmas Character will be available for purchase in the FloGris Shop.

This presentation is a tribute to Florence Griswold who was born on Christmas Day 1850, one year prior to the arrival of Mrs. Claus, and who contributed significantly to the benefit of others through her support and enthusiasm for the arts.

Holiday Magic is on view at the Florence Griswold Museum November 29–January 4.

The Museum’s educational programming is supported by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut; Connecticut Humanities; the Randolph and John Dirks Fund; the John and Kelly Hartman Foundation; the Sally Bill Children’s Education Fund; the Betty M. Challgren Education Fund; the Elizabeth Matthews Hubbard Education Fund; the Ingalls Foundation Education Fund; the Sali Godard Riege Educational Fund; and the Lelan F. Sillin, Jr. Education Endowment Fund.
