SCULPTING DEMONSTRATIONS: Conjuring from Clay

November 8 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Live Sculpture Demonstrations in the Gallery

with Joseph Van Buren, Jordan JT Hein, and Marina Melluzzo, Advance Sculpture Students/Student Instructors, Lyme Academy of Fine Arts

Included with Museum Admission, no advance reservations required

Join a group of sculptors for an on-going demonstration of the process of creating a figural form using clay. Sculptors will present the traditional approach to modeling, a process very similar to the historic studio practice of sculptor John Rogers, whose work is on view in the current exhibition, Inside Out: Contexts for American Art.

Inside Out: Contexts for American Art is on view at the Florence Griswold Museum through January 4, 2026.

This exhibition is made possible with the generous support of HSB, Department of Economic and Community Development, Connecticut Office of the Arts, Foundation for Advancement in Conservation, as well as donors to the Exhibition Fund and the Annual Fund.
