GALLERY TALK: naqutiwowok/continuance
January 15, 2025 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
with Amy Kurtz Lansing, Curator
Free with Museum Admission
Join Curator Amy Kurtz Lansing for a guided tour of the current exhibition naqutiwowok/continuance: Connecticut’s Tribal Communities Create. Elaborating upon Native Prospects: Indigeneity and Landscape, representatives from Connecticut’s five recognized Indigenous Tribes collaborated to curate the companion exhibition naqutiwowok/continuance, which honors the enduring relationship between Connecticut’s Tribal communities and the land they have called home for time immemorial. naqutiwowok, meaning “they continue to do,” speaks to the resilience of these communities as they navigate change, repair the bonds with nature and each other, and move forward with strength.
