During Black History Month, Frames in Film offers this presentation free of charge as a gift to the community. Celebrate the contributions of several contemporary African American artists at this FREE documentary screening. Inspired by the work of the late artist and curator David Driskell, this illuminating documentary spotlights the indelible contributions of some of the foremost African American artists in today’s contemporary art world, including Theaster Gates, Kerry James Marshall, Faith Ringgold, Amy Sherald, and many more.

Black Art: In the Absence of Light (director: Sam Pollard; executive producer: Henry Louis Gates) is a look at Black American Art and representation using Driskell’s landmark Two Centuries of Black American Art exhibition​ as a framing device.
